RAIDERS OF THE LOST ART.
An Online Exhibition | 20th – 26th July

CALL FOR SUBMISSION
Raiders Of The Lost Art is an online exhibition of visual arts. With works range including drawings, illustrations, installations, paintings, photography, sculptures and short films, we are now accepting submissions for this 7-day online exhibition.

This is an open call to all visual artists to submit works to this exhibition.

THEME: Raiders Of The Lost Art is a response to some of the challenges artists recalled experiencing during the covid-19 lockdown. This online exhibition draws on the motivation of artists to make, create and show works, inspite of the uncertainty and restrictions the currrent lockdown presented, not just to our personal lives but to our creative practices.

Many artists spoke about ideas lost, creativity stifled and goals negated. We want to take this opportunity to celebrate the tenacity, guile and creative resolve to continue making work inspite of uncertainty of lockdown.

In the words of Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul.”

ONLINE EXHIBITION: This is an open call for artists to submit artworks to show at this online exhibition.

This is an opportunity to reflect on what some called a lost period, or what many thought to be lost art. Since we still can’t Show and Tell, this is an opportunity to See and Tell.

ARTWORK OF THE DAY – 1 Artist, 1 Artwork, 1 Day: Each day, we will nominate one artwork as the artwork of the day. This will be reposted at 10pm UK time each night and the nominated artist will be given exclusive airtime. Please include your name, Instagram and Twitter handles, and your website, where applicable.

SUBMISSION: Submissions are accepted from any medium of visual art. We welcome submissions that include drawings, illustrations, installations, paintings, photography, sculptures, and short films. Send your submissions to us via email artistsshowcaseint@yahoo.com

DEADLINE: Closing date for submissions is midnite on Sunday 19th of July. The exhibition will run online from 10am Monday 20th to 12 midnite UK time on Sunday 26th of July. Artworks accepted will be shown online on Instagram, and at the end of each day, we will nominate and repost the Artwork of The Day, on Instagram, Twitter and our website.

SELECTION: Our 4-person panel include a celebrated choreographer, a visual artist and 2 digital creative practitioners.

Specific requirements:

  1. Send only high resolution images. Image format can be either landscape or portrait mode.
  2. Films should be no longer than 5 minutes long and use higher resolution footage, so for example choose 4K over 1080p where possible.
  3. Each artist can send as many as 10 submissions but only as many as 7 will be exhibited during the 7-day exhibition. That allows each artist to show a maximum of 1 artwork each day.
  4. Include your name, artwork title, medium and dimension where applicable.
  5. Include your Instagram and Twitter handles and your website, if you have one.
  6. Send submissions to our email at artistsshowcaseint@yahoo.com. Large files should be sent via WeTransfer.

ORDER OPTIONS

The Limited Edition prints displayed in this exhibition will have three size options; A2, A3, and A4. They will be delivered unframed but we also have contemporary frames in a choice of white or silver colours if required.

PRINT PRICES

These are Limited Edition prints with a short run. They will be signed and numbered by the photographers, and a certificate of Authenticity will be included.

This pop-up exhibition of photographs by three dynamic photographers explores some of the social commentary around South London’s voiceless, capturing stories, moments and instances, while reflecting on both the compelling and connective.

The people, the spaces, the places….this is a story waiting to be told. Dynamic in part, and reflective in part, this visual commentary brings together the timeless and authentic story of south London.

Photographers in this exhibition are Bayere Zouzoua, Eve Milner and Robert Raynard.
