Raiders of the Lost Art

An Online Exhibition | 20th – 26th July 2020

Raiders Of The Lost Art was a 7-day online exhibition of visual arts. Works included drawings, illustrations, installations, paintings, photography, sculptures and short films.

Raiders Of The Lost Art was a response to some of the challenges artists recalled experiencing during the Covid-19 lockdown. This online exhibition drew on the motivation of artists to make, create and show works, in spite of the uncertainty and restrictions the current lockdown presented, not just to our personal lives but to our creative practices.

Many artists spoke about ideas lost, creativity stifled and goals negated. We wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate the tenacity, guile and creative resolve to continue making work in spite of the uncertainty of lockdown.

In the words of Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul.”
